What the card is
A Social Security card is small, unglamorous and the single most requested document after a photo ID on any onboarding form. It is also the one most cheap vendors get wrong, because the failures are structural rather than typographic.
Ours is printed on the correct stock weight — thin card, not paper, not PVC. The border is a true guilloche pattern, the field layout follows the current issue style, and the typeface is a plain typewriter face at the correct pitch. The card flexes and curls the way a real one does when you hold it by a corner.
Production is 2–3 business days, the fastest document we run, because there is no lamination or binding step.
The three things that give a bad card away
- Paper instead of stock. Printed on 80gsm and cut with scissors. It flops. You can feel it through an envelope.
- A drawn border. A solid line or a repeating stamp pattern instead of a continuous guilloche weave. At arm's length it looks fine, at six inches it is obvious.
- A name that does not match the ID. The card says Jonathan R. Miller, the licence says Jon Miller. A clerk reading both will stop.
Point three is the one you control. Send the name exactly as it appears on your other documents, middle initial included, and we print it that way.
Numbers
You can supply nine digits or let us generate. Generated numbers are format-correct — the area, group and serial ranges follow the post-2011 randomised issuance pattern, so nothing about the shape of the number looks retro.
What a number does not do is resolve at the Social Security Administration. Nobody can give you a live record on plastic. If a vendor claims their SSN "verifies on the SSA site", they mean the format check, not the record.
| Check | Result |
|---|---|
| Nine digits, correct grouping | Yes |
| Format passes an online validator | Yes |
| Matches a real SSA record | No |
| Passes an I-9 visual review | Yes, with matching ID |
| Passes E-Verify | Not reliably |

What to pair it with
An SSN card alone does little. It works as the second item behind a state ID or licence, and a utility bill completes the three-piece stack most applications want. That trio is the $260 bundle — $60 cheaper than buying the parts separately. The price page shows the arithmetic.
Reviews
"Stock is right, it curls like the real thing. Used it with the ID for a warehouse onboarding pack and it went straight through."
"They made me re-send my licence to check the middle initial. Slight delay, correct outcome."
Questions
Can the number be one I already use?
Yes, and it is common. Send it and it prints as given.
Is there a back side?
Yes, printed with the standard reverse text.
Will it work for a job that runs E-Verify?
It will pass the visual and often the initial match. If the employer runs E-Verify against the number, expect a possible mismatch flag.
